Context
Hotels running FCS products kept their operational data in several separate systems.
Problem
Aggregate data from many hotel systems worldwide into one product every customer could use.
My role
Principal Software Engineer; led the product.
Approach and architecture
- Multi-tenant star-schema data warehouse
- Multi-source ETL with SSIS and web-based ETL services, over MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQL Server
- SSAS OLAP cubes (MDX/DMX) and open-source visualisations
- Predictive models for occupancy, staffing and expected service time
